Proconect Group, backed by Capital Export, takes over Minilampe

Since it was taken over by Capital Export and Béatrice Barokhel, Proconect, a manufacturer of industrial plugs and sockets, has clearly stated its ambitions: to become the bridgehead of a group that sees itself as a consolidator in its market. The acquisition of Minilampe, creator of lighting solutions for over 70 years, is part of this strategy.

Proconect Group, backed by Capital Export, takes over Minilampe

Based in Nantes, Proconect specializes in power connectors for the transport (rail, port, airport, truck) and mining sectors. The company generates almost 70% of its sales from exports.

Capital Export became a majority shareholder in Proconect in July 2020, to support Béatrice Barokhel's takeover of the company. The aim of the new partners is to create a benchmark group in the field of electrical/electronic equipment for complex and critical environments in the transport sector, with a view to rapidly increasing sales. This strategy is based on Proconect's strong organic growth, and on an active and selective external growth policy, of which Minilampe is a new stage. Further acquisitions are under consideration.

Based in Carcassonne, France, Minilampe designs and markets customized lighting solutions for the aerospace, defense, rail, industrial and marine sectors. The company has a long history of expertise in the manufacture of incandescent lamps, and masters their production to a rare level of quality.

The new entity, which employs around fifty people, will generate sales of close to €15 million in the current financial year.
