Capital Export's investment strategy is bearing fruit, as demonstrated by the results of Fund II (2019 vintage): an average multiple of 6x and an annual IRR of 119% across the first 5 exits (half of the Capital Export II portfolio).
These excellent results, combined with Capital Export’s unique positioning in the small-cap segment, drove the rapid fundraising for Capital Export III, at €160 million. This was conducted in parallel with deployment: Fund III currently features six companies, with a seventh transaction in progress, and six external growth operations have been completed or are in advanced stages of study. Fund III’s portfolio companies have averaged annual growth exceeding 15% and EBITDA margins over 30%.
Private clients are increasingly involved in fundraising, and other initiatives are in the pipeline.
It is worth noting that the share of private investors (including several 'French expats' from Capital Export's international network) more than doubled in Fund III (compared to Fund II), representing nearly one-third of total subscriptions. Building on this, Capital Export is considering launching a product for private investors within the next 2 years.
